Top Four Causes of Car Accidents

Considering the number of cars that crowd the streets of congested cities, it’s almost amazing that drivers ever reach their destinations. Occasionally, though, you will see a terrible wreck that blocks traffic for miles. If you want to reach your destination safely and on time, consider the following top four causes of car accidents so that you can become a better driver.

Distracted Driving

Distracted driving is the leading cause of car accidents. People chatting on their cell phones, playing with the radio, or eating behind the wheel make it harder for everyone to reach their destinations safely. In fact, some researchers have released statistics showing that distracted driving is one of the key reasons that car insurance rates rise in certain areas.

Keep your eyes on the road and stay aware of what other drivers are doing. You never know which driver is trying to finish a bagel while applying makeup and chatting with friends.

Speeding

Speeding not only makes accidents more likely, it makes them more deadly. When you drive over the speed limit, you reduce the amount of time you have to react to changes on the road. That could include a car entering your lane or a child running into the road. Regardless of what other drivers are doing, travel at a reasonable, legal speed.

Drunk Driving

Driving under the influence of alcohol slows reaction times and makes it harder for drivers to focus. Surprises on the road can lead to accidents even when you are completely sober. Those fast changes become much more difficult to navigate when you have been drinking.

You don’t have to be completely drunk to risk someone’s life. Even a couple of drinks can slow your reaction time considerably. That’s why so many states set the legal blood alcohol limit at .08 or below.

Driving in Inclement Weather

A sudden thunderstorm can take you by surprise while you’re out on the road. If the rain and wind obscure your vision of the road, then you can’t see the vehicles and obstacles around you. Inclement weather not only makes it harder to see the road and other people on the road, it can also throw dangerous obstacles in front of you. Tree limbs, garbage cans, and other items can quickly turn your neighborhood street into an obstacle course.

If possible, avoid driving in inclement weather. If you have any concerns about whether you can operate your vehicle safely, then wait a while for the weather to calm.

Driving accidents can happen for a wide variety of reasons. Distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving and inclement weather, however, are four of the leading causes of accidents. What are some of the other risks that you have seen cause accidents?

Keep Your Kids Busy During The Vacation To Enjoy Some Quality Time With Your Spouse

How can including the amusement park in your travel itinerary help you enhance communication with your spouse? Well, life may settle down into a routine when you have a family. You may find it difficult to retain the older romance in your marriage. A date may be spoiled by a sudden tantrum by your child or a sudden illness. In such a scenario, finding something that will keep the kids occupied will help you bring the spark back into your marriage.

This is why you should plan a trip to the amusement park. Of course, this does not mean you can simply dump your child at the park and go wherever you want to. However, your kids are going to be perfectly happy enjoying the rides and would leave you to enjoy some solitude despite being present in a heavily crowded amusement park.

If you go on a trip with your family members, you can have your relatives take care of your child during the trip and can go out on a romantic lunch or dinner date yourself. Try doing this without planning anything for your child and you may end up being called back to the hotel because of your child’s tantrum.

You should try this even if you feel there is nothing wrong with your marriage. Trying to spend some time with the person you fell in love with and got married to is always a good thing for your mental peace. A few hours together may be all you need to get rid of all the pent up stress and frustration in your life.

Safety Tips for Business Trips

Many people are faced with the prospect of having to travel for work, often having to be alone when they do.  Just like any other trip there are certain steps to be taken to stay safe.  Here is a look at some safety trips for business trips when traveling alone.

Often times if a company is having to pay for a hotel room they may try to cut corners by choosing one that is not in the best neighborhood. Be sure to look up the hotel you are going to be staying at before you travel.  Read the reviews and ratings from other guests. If you come across your hotel and you have an uneasy feeling about it consider paying extra to stay at another hotel or request to stay at another hotel that has better reviews and is in a better area.

Check in often with someone back home.  Even if you are busy with meetings, take a few minutes to let someone know what is going on and what sort of schedule you have for the day.  Even sending a quick text message is a good idea.

Avoid wearing very expensive jewelry.  While some of the events you are attending may be formal, avoid wearing expensive, elaborate jewelry or anything that is an attention grabber.  Remember thieves can be anywhere looking for what they assume to be an easy target.  If they see something they think is of great value it will only encourage them especially since you are traveling alone.

Lastly, avoid going out afterwards. If you are with other coworkers who may be staying at the same hotel as you, then it is a bit safer if you plan to share a cab.  But if you the only one at a hotel and staying alone, avoid going out after your business is done.  Instead stay at the hotel for a quiet evening in.

Travel Alone Safely

Whether you are taking a business trip or thinking about a weekend away by yourself, traveling alone can be a bit scary especially if you are doing it for the first time. Luckily there are a few steps you can take to make your trip safer and go more smoothly. Here are some tips to travel alone safely.

The first tip when planning to travel alone is to first always tell someone you are going to be gone.  Even if it is just a friend, neighbor or co-worker just give them some basic information letting them know you are planning to be gone for a bit and let them know when you should be back.

If you are planning on traveling out of country, consider putting your cell phone on an international calling plan. You can find out more about this by calling your cell phone company.  If you do not have a cell phone or do not want to bring yours then invest in a few international calling cards so you have the means of calling back home if you want or need to.

Never carry a large sum of money on yourself.  Instead, consider carrying a credit card or other means of paying for things. If you do carry cash on you, carry only what you need for the day and keep it in a place that is not so obvious to would-be thieves.

If you choose to go out for the evening stay in public places that are well lit and full of people.  Avoid drinking too much alcohol and never take a ride from someone.  It is safer to stick with public transportation or even by just taking a cab back to your hotel.

Lastly, always trust your instincts. If something does not feel right or you do not feel comfortable someplace, then it is time to leave.

Traveling From Denver Apartments: Safety Tips

The lure of international travel cannot be denied with all its strange, wonderful and unfamiliar sights. But you know too well the worries of leaving home when seeking out new countries. The borders can seem dangerous; the precautions can seem too great. You fear that your desire to simply relax will be replaced with stress. All of those new experiences seem to be preludes to disaster.

They don’t have to be.

Roaming from the comfort of your home that might include Denver apartments is possible. It merely requires a few simple rules and an understanding that fun can occur, it just has to wait until you’ve taken care of the practicalities:

One: Vaccinations. There is no better way to ensure safety on a trip than to receive the recommend shots and immunizations. All individuals are strongly urged to make their vaccinations current. This can defend against diseases or other possible complications.

Two: Insurance. Traveling is never as easy as you wish it to be. Accidents can happen. Insurance can counter all of the unexpected costs (such as losing your luggage, damage to a rental car or a visit the hospital). The coverage can be as vast or specific as you choose; and it can help you to maintain your funds, as well as your sanity.

Three: Alarms. Tourists represent temptations to pickpockets and thieves. The wealth of purses, messenger bags and suitcases cannot be refused. To protect yourself against any problems, it is recommended that you purchase a luggage alarm. These tiny bells can be triggered by any sudden movement (such as fingers trying to remove your wallet). They will prove invaluable.

Safety can be achieved while traveling. You do not have to limit yourself to the nearby suburbs. You can instead explore distant countries. Understanding the above necessities, however, will make that an easier thing.
